For this private home in Cobham, the brief was simple. Create an outdoor space that felt every bit as refined and comfortable as the interior.
The property gave us a lot to work with from the start. Modern architecture, big glass doors that pulled the garden right up to the house, natural stone underfoot, mature trees giving the space a sense of age, and long open views across the lawn. Our role was to bring it all together with considered styling, the right kind of lighting, and decor pieces that would make the terrace feel elegant, easy, and properly ready to be used.
We treated the terrace as another room of the house. Soft outdoor seating, warm wood tones, layered planting, and a handful of quiet decorative details came together to create a calm and welcoming feel. The dining area was set up for long evenings spent outside, while the lounge area was kept warm and intimate, with soft textures and a fire feature anchoring the whole space. Every choice had to feel natural, useful, and built to last. Nothing too heavy, nothing too staged. Just a relaxed balance between comfort, architecture, and the garden surrounding it.
